Uniform Collection 1
While preparing to do a reboot of Empires, and in the meanwhile preparing the color version of MarcusStrakiller's picture, it had occurred to me that I've never really done a lot of Empires art in color before. In fact, other people have done more fanart in color in my setting than I myself have.
Here I am considering different uniform color schemes. These would be for the basic, default uniform that all recruits get upon induction and then graduation from Initial Training. Later, other uniforms might be added to their collection for special environments. For example, in the "Empires" story from YARF! they obviously were assigned to a desert area, so would have worn desert "sandies".
In "Empires" they do not have "replicators" like in Star Trek. so they can't just make up whatever uniforms they need with the push of a button. And while they have the technology to weave electronic fibers into uniforms and make them be whatever color they wish, or camouflage (or even invisible), electronic imagery does generate detectable EM fields that can be scanned for... and everyone knows that a piece of technology that is mission-vital will inevitably fail at the worst possible time.
So what looks good? All green? All sand? A combination? The models are basic models I found on the internet specifically because they have a bland and trope-ish appearance and are not meant to represent any characters under development. I shared this with my Patreon think tank a few weeks ago but wanted to venture further afield and see what folks thought.

# 2 is pretty much the color my mind's eye was dropping into the black and white comic,
# 3 is an interesting combo while the reverse is jarring.
Interestingly, sand color (like confederate butternut or deer tan) is a decent camo color in woodland or desert. Ive known someone who dressed in that color with a deer mask for paintball and managed to not be seen until it was too late for his target.
