Joey Fox (better known as 'Maverick" or "Mavs" for short) is a Labor Raptor Rider and is known to be one of the best Battleball players and is considered an ace in piloting a Robot Raptor in a Battelball match.

Maverick is orphaned at a young age and has been taking care of himself in the Avalon Kingdom, making ends meet as a Raptor Rider worker in the Labor Corps. After the reformation of the Avalon government, Maverick becomes a member of the Avalon Freelancer Corps as one of their Raptor Riders and lives at their base with the rest of the Raptor Squadron. Although he has prior experience piloting a Raptor, he undergoes additional training for combat under Leon. While new to the battlefield, Maverick excels at combat, both in and out of the Raptor cockpit. However, Mav's anger issues tend to lead him into arguments with other people, especially R.J. This usually leads to Mav and R.J. throwing insults at each other. So naturally, there is a bit of a rivalry between the two.

Rumor has it that Maverick got his birth name because he was named after baby kangaroos and that he would jump around a lot. (It's not far from the truth since he does utilize jumping tactics in a Battleball match). He does not like being called by his real name as it usually leads to people making kangaroo jokes about him. Despite this, R.J. prefers to call him Joey because its funnier. Fortunately for Maverick, he gets to keep his nickname as his callsign to be used on the field.

Notes:
-The nickname/callsign "Maverick" came from the main protagonist of the movie "Top Gun."
-I've seen other fursonas use the same hair style and thought it would fit well for a "soldierish" type character. Mav's hair design has been edited thoughout the years but the current design for his hair is inspired by BetaEtaDelota's fursona. Should be noted that his fursona is also named Maverick.
-The headband is from Rambo, and is there to furthur emphasize that he is a "soldier" ish character.
-While his face is very Sonic-ish (note the green eyes and Tails like eye shapes), His head and overall fur color sheme is loosely based off two of Disney's fox characters; Todd (Fox and the Hound) and Robin Hood. To some extent, Nick Wilde from Zootopia. Basically, Mav is my take on the "Disney red fox" character.
-The "weapon" Maverick is using here is a utility tool used to cut rock or metal, in which I call the "Blaster Cutter". Naturally, it can be used for self defense if necessary as an improvised weapon. It's design and function is inspired by the Plasma Cutter from the Dead Space games.
