Hey there! I got comissioned this cute black cat mini-partial and it was a blast to make! this is the third Fursuit I make and Ive learned a lot in the process. Im in love with the craft and trying my very best on every build!!!
Next on the list is a premade fly to sell and (MOSTLY) have fun with, since not everyone is eager to buy a bugsona, but i like the challenge, and i want to show that i can take ANY commission and not only you average reskin of a dog fursona (Sorry). Aside from that, im also working on a "realistic" bunny furhead i got commissioned from a Pro-Photographer friend, and im really eager to start and see the finnished product. After those two are done, im probably going to invest on some quality fur to stock up since the only fabric available here is very low quality.

I'm a huge fan of what you got going on with expression, eyes, ears, placement of ears, not overly large canine snout attached to a 'cat' like most and general shape of the head. I would absolutely work on practicing with fur direction and that all fur must have its pile facing away from the nose and back to the back of the head from the nose direction generally. Of course upper snout around the mouth i'd usually go somewhat horizontally away from underneath the nose rather than angle downwards towards the mouth, it depends though.
I sort of wish to ask you how you did the ear interior and if I should attempt that idea myself, if it's fine with you. I'm wondering if there's a seam along the flat front edge! Of course I look forward to more in the future and maybe even getting work done by you in terms of bases or ears if I don't attempt that- they're so unique.
Your squishy paws are so cute. The only thing i'd change is fur direction again, all fur goes towards the finger tips from the arms including the arms themselves. :) And i'd say the claws are just puuuurfect!
Some shaving in the future will go a long way, I like to go really shaved and trimmed for mouths to show the details of the mouth shape and anywhere around the nose. I may suggest playing with clay for noses (or mirroring the nose shape for both sides when sewing).
Ear vents may be a nice handy idea too!

Hi! thanks for taking the time to comment :) <3
I dont like the common bucket-addedfoam-shaping-sculpting-trimming way of making bases, THERE IS SO MUCH WASTE!, So I pattern everything through a smaller plasticine model (that way I can also show the client and get the shape aproved beforehand ;) ) that I can then scale Up, and have a base to add some more shape If it feels flatter than the original model (It also gives a lot more room in the inside, so a lot less sweat build-up, but id like to incorporate vents in the future too!).
As to the ears, yes, there is a seam right down the middle! Ive made them kinda chunky for a cat tho, but since is a toony style, I felt it looked cute and squishy. I attached them seperatly from the base too, So i can "test" the best place for them and then glue AND sew by hand to the head.
As Ive said, the only fur available is very low quality here, so it cant be shaven!!! at first I thought I had a crappy machine, but then I got my hands ahold of some nicer quality fur and it shaves purrfectly. It would have also solved the problem with the fur direction on the front face, but meh, whats done is done ;(

Meow! ^^
Yeah I agree I dislike waste and it'd be so neat to build that way with a pre-set pattern. I have switched to 3d printed bases though just nothing in my gallery shows for it just yet though it's in queue. I'm always scared with one layer of foam if something goes lopsided eh :/ I like super thick with foam, but 3d printed might solve my issue.
Only a seam in the middle? Huh wow, I think I see it on the right side ear just not the left so it was a good hiding job! I'm excited to try for fleece and that shape idea someday.
Ah yeah I recall reading the low quality, for some reason I thought maybe trimming it with scissors wouldn't be so bad but now it makes sense, low quality is scary stuff.
