Last October we put up a picture on Patch Together and people were allowed to vote on it. If it gets enough votes, and the votes are high enough then Patch Together selects the toy to be made. They essentially do all the sculpting, painting and manufacturing, but require a minimum amount of people to purchase the item before they'll make it. That's more or less how it works =).
