Josie Jennings, Mother of Five and Lover of All
Every mother in life starts to experience the “empty nest” syndrome. Your children have left the house, learning new experiences and going off on their own… Well, mostly, in Josie’s case. The house gets quieter, and it just starts to become lonely. And the worst part about this? Soon, Josie will just be all by herself!
It wasn’t always like this. Josie Jennings grew up in a big family of 12, making her the second oldest of all her siblings, and practically shoving her into a “second mother” role. But she didn’t mind that; she honestly enjoyed the idea of taking care of her baby brothers and sisters and looking after them. All that changed when she had met the love of her life during her senior year in high school. Already falling quickly in love, she married him a year later, and they both settled on one one goal for each other: they wanted to make a big family! As they moved into a massive house that would be built for such a family, and for her husband who was just accepted into the medical field, Josie gladly accepted the role of housewife. And from there, she and her husband got busy. Each child conceived would be a few years apart from each other, and after child #5, they were ready to continue the flow of things! Her husband had made enough to deposit quite a large sum of money into each kid’s savings account, just in case something were to happen, so each child would at least have some sort of cushion.
Sadly, that “something” ended up happening. Things took a sharp turn for the worst as her husband passed away from a heart attack, leaving Josie to handle all five kids for herself… And with five mouths to feed, she needed to have SOME sort of income! So with her mind set on a new career, she attended night classes at the local community college. Juggling homework, studying, and pretty much every single chore in the house, Josie eventually got her degree in the economics field, applying to work at the city’s largest bank company. Working as a simple teller, all the way up to being the top agent of the company! With enough money earned, she wanted to do something back for her children, for having to deal with all of this struggle for so long…
She told each and every one of them to always fall back on her whenever they were in trouble with anything. Extra funds were pushed into their savings accounts. And each one of them even got their own new car, all within their name! Josie reminded them that they were all welcomed back to the house if something didn’t go well and they just needed to see their mother.
Now, with the youngest one being 17 and going through her senior year of high school, Josie sits around in a near-empty nest, with no life partner… She wants to get back into the dating scene and find a new husband! Or even a wife! She wants to make the most of her life, and she feels that she’s still young enough to do it.
