The bike is Tani's Honda Varadero - and she was most kind to provide me with photo reference which helped me out a lot ^.^! The neighborhood itself is fictional but I used many references to help me try to give it a little realism.
Done with micron pen (which I mostly painted over) and golden fluid acrylics on 9"x12" illustration board.

Bikes are definitely scary...at first.
I recommend starting off on a scooter or dirt bike. But riding is a LOT of fun. I have a few rules that might help ease your mind:
1. If its big enough to kill you, assume its trying to.
2. No passengers.
3. Never ride in the rain.
4. Dress as though you're going to fall off at 60mph and ride to never fall off at 60mph. If you fail to ride well enough, at least you won't get too badly hurt from the fall. Leather is your friend. Helmets are cool because living is cool. Wear them both.

Oh, and maybe brain dead because you're riding on the highway without a helmet. Real smart."

Kid in his 20's down the street had no buisness being on a bike, but his friend let him ride his bike...the poor lad laid his friends crotch rocket downdoing fifty MPH, he wasn't wearing a helmet. He is lucky to be alive but for the longest time we thought he died right there. And smacked his head on the curb and the bike went through a cobblestone wall. For the next two weeks we thought he died on the spot. But it turns out. He had hit his jaw on the curb and not his head. H survived. But will be scarred for life.
I actually think that the detail to realism and the way you did the lighting for this is what made this picture. From the thumbnail alone I thought it was a photo of someone in a suite or something. Once I realized it was a drawing I was even more amazed. Really, this is amazing.
you know for a brief minute when I looked at the whole thing, I thought it was a photograph with Tani and Hida drawn ontop of the bike, only upon a closer look did I realise it was all drawn and I thought "WOAH!" I was really blown away by how realistic this picture looked I also felt quite embarrassed when did figure out it was all drawn =D you really do rock
Fantastic work. Kacey, I must say you're a genius working with traditional media in all your pieces. Environmental lighting is difficult enough to produce, but every time you nail it. HOW?
Also, the perspectives and object depiction are fantastic and well produced. Your work is definitely some of the best photo-realism images I've seen. :)

What's most striking about this one to me is how realistic the lights on the bike look. I mean, everything is incredible, realistic, and detailed, but there's just something incredible about how real they look. And the rear view mirror has a little reflection of her face, omg! You're the best. <3
Well, it's impossible to say anything that hasn't been said already by this point, but this is... stunning! You've outdone yourself once again - what I particularly noticed was the feel of... texture in the picture, with the different materials - metal, clothing, the mirror and the tail lights - looking very different, and perfect in their own way. There's also great attention to detail in the shadows, and that makes it... probably the most lifelike picture I've ever seen on this site.

That is friggin AWESOME!! so much detail o.O Lighting is top notch!! Reminds me of visiting furs in southern south africa... riding
