Marvin liked being big, and he loved growing bigger, but he had always limited himself to fairly reasonable sizes so he could still interact with those smaller than him. One day though, he noticed a large airliner flying overhead. An idea popped into his head, signified by a sudden growth spurt. He kept his gaze fixed on the plane, willing it closer and closer as his body swelled larger and larger. He felt a rush of excitement seeing the small dot in the sky started sinking lower and lower toward the horizon as Marvin's head reached and then surpassed it in altitude. It remained a small dot the whole time as distance exchanged with perspective.
By the time his growth finally stopped, Marvin was looking down on the plane, watching it lazily glide past his face. The mere thought of so many tiny people inside the tiny vehicle sent shivers down Marvin's spine, and he gingerly raised a hand up through the clouds underneath it so he could watch it escape his fingers. It shook a little from the updraft his massive digits caused, but Marvin was careful not to create too much turbulence, helped by his powers preventing him from harming others. Moving as steadily as he could, the massive moose leaned in close and tried to make out individual faces in the windows. As he saw them, he felt another rush of elation, and quickly yet smoothly took a step back as another growth spurt rocketed his body upward. The plane was suddenly no higher than his chest, then his abs as Marvin's growth continued, and with the pleasure he was feeling from it, he didn't know if it would stop anytime soon.
So I'm currently going through a "mega macros looming around airplanes as they fly by" kick which inspired me to do one of my own! I decided it would be a good opportunity to try my hand at rendering real cloud volumes instead of using textures or, like most of my works, not being assed to put any clouds in at all. I would say was moderately successful, though my setup was a bit clumsy; I had to create the volumes in Houdini, exporting Marvin's pose to use as a reference, and then export the VDB back into the Maya scene to render in Renderman. It works but iterating on it takes a while, so if I ever do more stuff with clouds like this in the future then hopefully I'll find a way to streamline the process.
