For most of his life, Kherrox had to fight for survival. Forced into pit-fighting by his drunk of a father at a young age, Kherrox quickly learned that if he didn't win, he didn't eat. Motivated by hatred of his father and an eagerness to support his kind and sickly mother, the red draygas pushed himself as hard as he could every day. Kherrox's losses became less and less frequent, until no one else in the village could beat him. The barbarian then moved onto fighting pits in other villages, now motivated by pride in himself and in his ability. He watched his opponents, studied their techniques, and learned what worked and didn't work for him.Once Kherrox joined forces with Danathius, the pair traveled all of Altreak together to learn what they could, together. cainhiryu has a really interesting concept for a hub world, similar to how Sigil operates in D&D, except it has advanced technology. So Danathius and Kherrox have definitely visited it and at least Danathius is aware of advanced tech.
Aware but probably understands it as little as a scientist failing to put full scientific explanation on how magic works. I can imagine if Dan actually got his hands on some of the tech like data tablets or guns, he'd likely be far more efficient, especially with the Data Tablet where searching up information would be done in mere minuites instead of hours and days of research.
