This is the ninth instalment in de Ephalon series, as well as the third of the future trilogy arc. This is it, the epic conclusion of a story that spanned multiple Eras.
Writer's note: I freaking love this cover, it's bonkers good. Shout out to Netherwulf for going all out on it! Thank you mah dude!
Introduction:
Three years ago, in a fit of obsessive madness to know the truth about Ephalon's origins, Daniel unleashed a deep-space radio wave, summoning that which should not have been called. Today the world of Ephalon stands witness to the consequences of that foolish endeavour.
Rhea Arramore must decipher the cryptic message passed onto her by one of the long-extinct aliens she encountered in her dreams, back when she was at the bottom of the Kraad ocean. Her hope lies in the idea that whatever it is trying to convey will help prevent the apocalypse from coming to pass, eschaton as the alien called it.
With limited time and a severe lack of knowledge, Rhea, her father, and her friends must unify to thwart the Devourer. To fail is to embrace eradication.
Ephalon - Devourer is the third part in the future arc trilogy, a direct sequel to Ephalon - Trial of the cursed. If you haven't done so already, I urge you to read that and its predecessor first before delving into this story. This instalment is the final in the nine-part series, and for the most avid fans, here, you will finally learn about the missing elements of the overarching story plot. This is your last stop; this is the end.
Back cover tekst:
People of Ephalon, enjoy the final few months of your existence, because Fate is done playing games.
Its will was denied before, but not this time. This time all bets are off.
Nothing has ever been able to defeat what is coming, not a single advanced civilisation, nor the so-called six Gods of Creation.
There is no hope, despair will reign supreme.
The end hath cometh, and thy name is Devourer.

Still no reaction to this? No-no, that's wrong!
I also love it. The Dragon/Devourer design looks sick AF! That is something you don't fight...You avoid it at any cost! It looks like a planet is enough for a few days for it's appetite.
The only strange thing about the concept is...Two gigantic planets are that close to each other? Is that even cosmologically possible? If there was a mirror dimension counter-part or Two planets just be so by the hubris of a God...maybe. I am ready to suspend my disbelief for the sake of awesomeness!
Plus...I love the new font style! It's very space/sci-fi-y!

The two celestial objects are moons. Ephalon has two, but this is a scene from a dream sequence. Normally, the moons aren't that close obviously.
Devourer is a raw force of nature, causing gravity fluctuations wherever it goes. It is also suffering incarnate, created as a desperate final attempt by an old, old race of aliens to rid themselves of a different horror; sufficed to say. It worked... a little too well.

Dream moons...I allow it!
My OG Devourer of Worlds is Galactus. I just love the concept of the Power Cosmic and Silver Surfer is my number one Marvel hero (after Spiderman ), because he doesn't solve crimes and takes on robbers...He is above petty humanoid squabbles. Plus He walks on Suns, casually uses Black Holes as fast travel, and does weird shizz...

I will admit I am a huge fan of Warhammer both fantasy and 40 K.
My science fiction roots lie more in Star Trek (80's 90's series) and Stargate, and the random assortment of whatever else I've seen over the years.
At the end of the day, I never really try to emulate what others have already done; my intention is to make something original.
Once I'm done building my computer game, I'm going to delve into a hard sci-fi triology set in the Ephalon universe. The larger story for it is already on paper, just need to flesh out the details.
