Tomoe for the 855th time. But this time I swear to god the design final.
The old ones for comparison: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/39578380/ and https://www.furaffinity.net/view/40804170/
I really like the wolfish fur pattern on Tomoe's back, and I'm having so much fun drawing it! It was a gradual change from a darker brown to a bit more colorful coat there, until a while ago when I finally decided to make it fully like this, a mix out of an inner layer of light fur and outer layer of longer dark fur, the kind that grey wolves have. Not only does this make him look more like a wolf, it also makes him look more fancy. This picture came out mainly because I wanted to try out my new way of coloring without a lineart, I think it looks decent. Even if the fur in general looks too blurry for my taste... but that could be just me being too afraid to use deep colors while shading.
Anyway, I'm really satisfied with how Tomoe turned out! And his new design with the wolf fur pattern on his back especially <3

It's perfectly ok whether a character's design is considered "final" or not. In fact it doesn't have to be considered final and set in stone. Usually their design evolves with us as the creator little by little over time. It's just a natural, sometimes subconscious process.
Must add that the fur is gorgeously detailed, what patience to use different shades as layers making it look downright realistic. Big jump forward in little time compared to the previous ones.

You're right, especially with artists, the designs of our characters naturally develop together with our art skills x) I know I'm very bad with keeping at one specific character design with characters that are bit more colorful, I keep wanting to improve them hah! Your words comforted me, thank you xD
Thank you so much, I put a lot of time into the fur here and it really makes me happy to see that work getting recognized <3
