I didn't expect the "reaction" to the NA1-X pic ( http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4364539 ). So here's an earlier idea I had for a 50's style [conventional] jet-powered airship. I know it wouldn't work, but I just wanted to be rediculous and see what "the next stage" would look like.

Those set up like AWACs would have been probably more cost effctive than the radar stations set up like oil rigs in the N. Atlantic in the '50s (at least one sank disasterously...)

Hmmmm.... well if you make it more aerodynamic.... aka slim, it may work with a jet engine. At least it should. Of course not as fast as a plane but faster than normal Blimbs.
