Here's the reason.
Coloring of a quite old lineart of mine, and now you will know more about this character, since it's important for the plot of "Spyro: Wicked Spells". She will be moved to my Webcomic "Seth!".
Name: Mut (meaning "mother" in ancient Egyptian language).
Also know as: Eye of Ra, Mother of the Gods, Queen of the Goddesses, She Who Gives Birth But Was Herself Not Born of Any. (All of these are real titles on how this goddess was called by the Egyptians)
Theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9iViHLwxApI (Eye of Ra)
Family: Ra (husband), Khonsu (son), Sekhmet (daughter), Karabà (let me explain).
Wearing: She's naked, and hangs out naked. She has a crown of gold but, in formal appearance, she has a stuffed white vulture on the head.
Character: If Karabà (here: http://fav.me/d2k3d1s ) was evil, the voodoo faun witch is still a lamb compared to Mut. The goddess enjoys the sufference, laughs at the pain (she even hurts herself with knives, screaming pleased), she's the one born with parthenogenesis from the bloody shores of the Nile river, after a battle between primordial entities. The water, mixed to the blood, bought shape of a sphere and from it merged this evil goddess. Then, together with Ra, she generated Sekhmet from the fire and the blood of her wounds. Khonsu was adopted.
Story Background: When the Queen Sahara II was going to create Sahara III and Karabà with the essence of the Nature and the Winds of the Desert (being only females, the Gazelle faun tribe reproduce via magic only), the wicked Mut arrived, covering the sky with black clouds, messengers of disgrace. The tribe understood that something was going wrong, but the Queen tried to do all as fast as possible. The Goddess cutted her wrists with her fangs, making the blood fill the clouds, that then rained blood drops. Now Sahara II was really scared, and finally she created two light creatures, still without any form. Mut roared, her roar was a powerful thunder that set on fire an old tree. Then, she took a minimal part of her soul and sent it against the two light creatures. She actually didn't cared about who she was going to "contaminate", but this part of her soul entered in the light that was Karabà. Mut disappeared with a laugh, her black clouds as well, but when the Queen finally managed to gave her daughters a corporal form, she noticed the disgrace: while Sahara III was "normal", Karabà was of a darker colour, with an evil aura around her.
But she didn't cared, she was still her daughter. The daughter who would have killed her in the next years.
So, basically, Mut and Karabà are kinda the same entity. Kinda of.

Yeah, the family relationships and goddess roles get REALLY confused all over Egyptian mythology. Razz and I can rarely find two sources that agree on anything. I think it's probably due to the sheer length of time in which the religion was practiced and how widespread it was. With that much time and so many regional variants, it's no small wonder some things get mixed around/changed up over the years!
Haha, I thought I detected something Sekhmet-y about her! XD

Yes, but this means that you two have actually FOUNDED two sources that agree. I still ain't. XD Let's just think that even names change. Mut can be even Maut ot Mout, and Sekhmet Sachmis (in Greek) or Sakhet. It could be some dialect, thought. Well, ancient Egypt is even more interesting now. :D
What? The glare? Because I actually based her appearance on an evil cousin I have. XD
(Even thought Karabà is based on Michael Jackson and Jafar, lol)

Evil cousins are great sources of inspiration. XD As are Jafar and MJ. I totally see all of the influences now that you point them out.
I think it was actually the neck rings which made me think the most of Sekhmet, now that I think on it. Of course Razz was inspired to make those part of her costume based on the Burmese "Giraffe Necked" women who can stretch their necks out to truly epic lengths with them. :O

God if I hate that woman. XD
See? Karabà has MJ's hairs and Jafar's attitude. People often think I was inspired by Facilier for her, but it's not true, because I didn't even knew of the movie at the time, and the voodoo came out randomly because she was a witch. Also, it's said that Facilier was also inspired by MJ and Jafar... But if you know Superjail! you will see Facilier ripped off the main character's clothes. XD
Wait, this can actually be considered both "Sekhmet Trivia" and "Razz Trivia"! I must write them in my infamous "Stalker's Book"! *writes*
So she was inspired by the Burmese "Giraffe-necked" women? I always thought she was inspired by the South Ndebele people. XD
