Hypno Beerforce by Felis Randomis (com. 2 of 2 by Treecke...
The second of two pieces ordered by
treecker for his avali character Rykis.
Like I said in the post for the first image, this order was an absolute blast to work on. Treecker allowed me and my affiliate to experiment with colorizing the images I print, and it turned out far better than any involved were expecting!
I have only one thing to add in relation to this order, and that is that this print was the second to come off a machine that I bought to lighten the work load on the one that I had been using--freeing it up for my affilliate to use for their work.
Initially thought that the laser was in focus for this print, but having run prints since this order was finalized, I have to admit, it wasn't. I do think it turned out for the better though, because there were no faults or imperfections that resulted from it. If anything, it made the print easier to colorize.
So yes, this was what I would consider (in retrospect) a failed print, but the failure was not sufficient enough that I felt the quality had diminished at all. Now, if you'll forgive me for a bit of a sales pitch right here; my standards for quality are such that had I known at the time that the laser was out of focus (by what turned out to be quite a large margin) I never would have let the print run, let alone finished it. I would have started over.
However I am happy to say that Treecker was--when I last spoke with him--absolutely in love with this piece and its companion. As part of my quality guarantee, if he is ever unhappy with this piece because of my failure to recognize that the laser was out of focus, I will gladly rerun it for him!
About this Piece:
Treecker commissioned this to be an 8x8 after seeing the colorized print of his first order a week prior. I hadn't fully anticipated running this piece and was ready to ship its companion to Treecker when he ordered it, but that's not saying this was a rush job.
This print actually took longer than its companion to set up in preproduction because of details like the swirls in the eyes, and the squiggles over the characters head. I was legitimately so concerned with those details that I almost flipped out when I couldn't ring the right combinations of settings to keep the "background" (residual interference from a white or transparent background that really chews up the quality) from bleaching out the image. Thankfully though I was able to make due with minimal detail loss, and what was lost due to the laser being out of focus was negligible at best.
All in all, another good example (like this one: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/42592062/ ) of how mistakes can be made, and not effect the final product.
Please note that when ordering color images like this, I have zero control over any "bleed" that occurs. I can't seal and paint over the image, as the paint wouldn't adhere to the sealant, nor can I prevent any bleeding in delicate areas due to the nature of the material. I also cannot guarantee that the colors will be 100% accurate. In honesty, I got lucky with this order because the color of the alcohol based paint changed when it was applied, darkening to what you see in the image (and I promise, images don't do these prints justice!)
Anyway, thanks again to Treecker for allowing me to experiment with his order, and thanks to
felisrandomis for her behind the scenes work to remove the background on this image and it's companion.

The avali are a species created by
ryuujinzero and as always I hold absolutely no claim to anything about what I do except the work of putting the image onto the piece.
