Bio:
Back in the days of Fuedal Japan, the samurai lived in extreme prestige, while the common folk suffered at the hand of their cruelty. But, one common farmer, Tomo Ame Katswell, felt opressed to the point where she couldn't take it anymore. So, behind the noble families' backs, Tomo began to plot a rebellion against them, but figured that she can't do it in broad daylight otherwise it would mean instant capture. So, she gathered many other farmers from other families, and created the ancient martial art of ninjitsu, where they would sneak in through the shadows at night, quickly strike at the enemy, and then vanish without leaving a trace of their existence.
It took some time, but Tomo was able to perfect this new martial art, and put it to the test when she decided to infiltrate an enemy shrine belonging to the mighty Shogun. She was nervous about being captured easily, so she took her time when infiltrating the shrine. Thankfully, Tomo was able to reach the Shogun's prized possession, a golden dragon statue, without being detected by the guards, and stole it, leaving her family's symbol on the wall in its place. This was a sign that Tomo has had enough of the nobles looking down on her people, and stole the statue to show them that she'll take something from them since they stole something from her. Her mission was a success, and inspired the common people to rise up against the nobles.
Over the years, Tomo has led her fellow ninja in crushing the Shogun's reputation by vandalizing his shrines, stealing his valuables, and even exposing his cruel ways to the general public. The people weren't sure how it happened, but once the Shogun's crimes were revealed, he was dethroned, and the Daimyo was crumbled. Afterwards, the ninja were split into four family clans: the Batsu Clan of Bats (Kimiko's clan), the Clucku Clan of Chickens (Kung-Pow Chicken's clan), the Acornu Clan of Squirrels (Whitnee's clan), and the Catsai clan of Cats (Tomo's clan). Tomo even decided to create a new form of theater for the Japanese people to enjoy, which was a form of puppetry where the actors would operate huge puppets while dressed in black. She called it bunraku, which meant "Japanese puppet theater," and it provided the perfect cover for her secret duties as a ninja on the side.
But, one day, a new Shogun appeared, and had Tomo arrested and her bunraku theater closed down because he wasn't satisfied with the performance. It wasn't long before Tomo met her descendant, Kitty Katswell, and realized that the Shogun was her enemy, Iggy Spikes, and he was sent to Fuedal Japan by Jack Rabbit to eliminate the Four Ninja Clans to prevent her and Kimiko from being born. So, after rescuing her, and reopening her bunraku theater aftering gathering enough wood for puppets, Kitty, Tomo, and the rest of Team Katswell planned a jailbreak at Iggy's ancestral temple to get all the ninjas out of there. Once Iggy found out about this, he stole Tomo's DNA, and fled to the roof of his temple, with Kitty in hot pursuit. After Kitty defeated Iggy, Tomo was grateful for her descendant's help in restoring her former glory, and is proud to know that the Four Ninja Clans were striving in the 21st century keeping the Land of the Rising Sun safe from evil.
Personality & Traits:
Tomo was usually very shy, and tends to keep to herself at times, which is pretty common amongst ninja types. She only ever opens up when she's training other ninjas in the art of ninjitsu, but even there, she rarely shows any form of expression. But, when it comes to protecting her land from the ruthless samurai, Tomo isn't afraid to stand up to them, and is willing to give it her all to protect her people.
While she's mostly just a shy individual, Tomo has opened up more once Team Katswell came to her time period. She mostly opened up the most with Kitty, her descendant, and Kimiko, a descendant of one of the Clans she created. After learning so much of how the Clans thrived in the future, Tomo became proud of their accomplishments, and made her determined to make sure the Clans stay on the right path (although she was unaware that the Clucku Clan was going to become a force of evil in the future).
As stated before, Tomo has invented the art of bunraku, and performing it on a regulary basis for the public has made her more comfortable with facing the public (despite the fact that she's covered in black). But, she also uses it as a cover for her ninja duties, so she trusts her fellow performers to act in her stead when she's out. She also has a love for sushi in typical cat fashion, and goes nuts whenever she sees it. But, she always puts her people before her own needs, and still a competent ninja when it comes to standing up for the weak.
Well, that's Tomo for "TUFF: Team Katswell."
