This triptych is just some goofing around with a few popular fellows. I thought the connection of animals from Looney Tunes and Disney's was funny enough (rodent, duck, dog) but combining them made a weird effect.
The concept is 'what is a character?' Is it the animal, or the clothes they wear? Do you see Bugs or Mickey more?
I'm posting each one seperately, too. These were also shown at Anthrocon 2008

It's interesting... to me, I first saw the character whos features were most dominant in the picture... that is Goofy, Bugs and Daffy - With Goofy it's the clothes and the hat that trigger my brain, for Bugs it was the smile (eyes/mouth) and posture and for Daffy it was the fighting pose and giant bill.
I remember these fellows! It was very cool to see it in person.
As you alluded in your description, it's a pretty interesting concept. I see both of the represented characters equally in each picture, which got me thinking a lot about just what elements are important in character designs.
In any event, these are very cool. :)

These are great. I think the character is in the clothing. I know who they are, but when I think of how they might act, the clothing defines it for me. I see wile E., but my mind thinks Goofy. It is almost confusing, because the clothes that normally make the character are trying to do so with other characters that are already so strongly defined.
This reminds me of a favorite t-shirt I have. It is of Tigger wearing Mickey Mouse shorts, gloves, shoes and ears. Cross-character dressing is always fun for me.

This is positively sublime! There's literally four art galleries within walking distance who'd agree with me. I'd see about getting them shown.
To me, it's the fact that these characters-- who are perfectly cast --are polar opposites. There's a lot of yin and yang at work here. And to answer your question, I was a WB kid. (We couldn't afford the Disney channel.)
