Thistle remembered tripping over a root and skinning her knee while playing tag with the other ponies.

She looked at the freshly bandaged injury around her foreleg. The scrape still stung, she could feel the tears burning in her eyes. “Bullrush s-said that it will get infected and that my leg will f-fall off!”

“There, there, little Thistle. It will be ok, it is only a tiny scratch. See, Mommy has made it all better now” The big mare gave the small filly a comforting lick on her mane.


Instictively, Thisle began to lick at the hole in her right foreleg. Suddenly, the puncture filled in and stopped leaking air! The surprised filly began to lick faster, soon healing the holes in her forelegs, and her rear hoof. She quickly turned her attention to her damaged tail. Reaching the tears proved difficult, so instead, she got her patch kit from her saddlebags. In a couple minutes, it looked like her tail punctures were sound once again!

“Now how do I reinflate myself?” she thought.

At that moment, the bear that attacked her before came bounding out of nowhere. She never even heard it approach! In an instant it had tackled her and had her on her back, immediately engulfing her throat in its massive jaws.

“They will never find me...” her last thought flashed through her mind.

Happier with the characters, although the bear should probably be larger, regardless, those claws do look like serious business!
