Albert Rickets is a novice monster hunter who's waited his entire life to hunt down a truly ferocious beast. After a flurry of disruptions in the small town of Beggar's Reprieve, he finally gets his chance to chase down a genuine werewolf and win everyone's respect. Unfortunately, no one else seems quite as dedicated about hunting down the monster, especially when the ale is so cheap. Even the werewolf itself seems more interested in baking than bloodshed. The night has only begun, and already everything is going wrong (despite everyone's monster hunting licenses being in perfect order).

This is an ILLUSTRATED STORY about forbidden forests, haunted castles, an ageless vampire, a drink-loving hunchback, a muffin-obsessed werewolf, and the hunter who must deal with them all and somehow escape with his hat intact.

Ooh, I like this story so far! Like another said, strikes a good balance of business and frivolity. Makes it feel realistic, and makes the old well-trodden "horror subversion" kind of story feel fresh again. Quality prose, too. 2nd chapter was comfy but also keeps you suspicious like the guy himself feels. That's a neat effect. I want to see where this goes.
