His ring was shattered during a fight to quell a raging shadow Lugia that threatened to destroy all of Nirian with floods and flash storms, and he managed to defeat it with the help of his Guardians, Known Protectors of the Nirian Universes, But not before the beast managed to destroy his ring and injure him.....leaving him with the remnants that still float around him and bend to his will......and a scar on his face, right where the blow grazed by him.
The object attached to his torso is the main part of his ring, still there after the rest was broken, and resting on it is an unown symbol.....an X.
