Official Zorgoia Species (NEW 2021)
At LONG last, a much overdue project is finally here! It's been a whiiiiile since I made the old Zorgoia species sheet. The old version is quite dated, so I figured it was time for a facelift. The world of Veldram (the planet I have decided that Zorgoias originated from) is developing, and I will even release a website for zorgoias packed with lore in time!
NOTE as of 2021: There are still things under development, such as the anatomy sheets, trait sheets, and subspecies sheets. Please bare with me as I work to add them in.
That means they are free to make! They are incredibly flexible in what you can do with them, and you can even make Zorgoia hybrids with other species. Their adaptable DNA makes them prime candidates for mixing and matching.
There are NO restrictions on making or selling any subspecies of Zorgoia as of September 2024! This INCLUDES the previously restricted Pygmy and Spireborn subspecies! Go wild and have fun! ^^
Zorgoias are very in tune with magic and some can harness all different kinds of abilities.
They can vary from having no magic at all to having all the magic of a demi-god. Not only this, their sizes can vary from as small as 1 foot (anything smaller is considered a Pygmy subspecies) to as large as a planet, or even moreso. The cosmos is the limit!
Feel free to stray from the official traits as well if you would like, as their traits are very flexible in what they present as. The ones showcased on the official sheets below are the most common amongst them.
They are quite variable and can be changed to your specific liking.

Comes as a full reference sheet with a front view, side view, mouth, hand paws, feet paws, and eyes! Please keep in mind you will need something that can open a PSD. Some amount of editing skill is required.
I recommend free programs such as krita, medibang, fire alpaca, etc if you do not have anything that can open PSDs.
Clip Studio is the most efficient for this as it was created and color coded in this program, but is not necessary.

It is outdated and doesn't have near as many traits or features, nor is it as efficient, but I will still keep it up just in case people prefer it.

And now, for a few final words and facts!
~Zorgoias are omnivorous, but prefer meat and live prey. They only need to eat anywhere from a week to 3 weeks. Since they do not produce waste, their bodies are very keen on grabbing energy from their prey.
~Zorgoia's internal glow varies and does not need to be restricted to one color, or a light color.
~A baby Zorgoia is known as a Squeak, and a group of Zorgoia are known as a Tangle.
~Zorgoias actually love fruit! Most commonly their favorite treats are types of fruit. Perhaps it is because they are smallish and full of juicy flavor?
~Contrary to popular belief, Zorgoias do not have claws! They are just pointy finger-type toes! The only exception to this are rare mutations.
~Zorgoias can and do live anywhere and everywhere. They are nomadic creatures and don't normally stay in one spot for more than a few years at most. Some have even been known to take off into space and travel to other worlds! However, they originated on the planet of Veldram, for anyone curious about that.
~ Goias love coil hugs! They love to coil around their favorite people and nudge their heads into them to show affection.

Zorgoias let’s fucking goooooooooooo! I’m in a dnd where a friend of mine made them a dnd friendly species! I’m playing as one and so is she. After seeing how big they could be my immediately though was coiling around and devouring a dragon as a massive zorgoia. I’m curious though. Am I able to use this post itself as a ref sheet?
Not the creator, but I don't see why not! they're super okay with pretty much any alterations and such, and you don't necessarily need it to be an injury or something, they're magical beings so there's no reason why they couldn't magically give themselves a forked tongue. This is basically a guideline to the "natural" zorgoia.

Normally a psd base doesn't bother me. It's just the grey ones because then it's hard to make it transparent

Can I make a 3d model of the basic one above with some different versions with other barbs, toes, and toungs thats shown? Also I'm ony using it for personal stuff.

I know I said this on the old ref, but I would like to point out that snakes do not actually unhinge their jaw.
Instead, their jaws are double-hinged. This allows their bottom jaws, which are two separate left and right jawbones, to open sideways.

Love this original species have seen em years ago but only recently remembered them again. Am curious about when a Zorgoia are borned with both gender appearances as I like making my characters accurate to lore. Plus will give me some inspiration when working on the base sheet :3
