Bio:
Deep in the Amazon rain forest, there lives a tribe of jungle cats that bare a strong resemblence to the Katswell family. According to most researchers, they were called the Catami tribe, and they were closer to the Amazon rain forest than anyone before or since. Even when the Portugese came to Brazil, and claimed the country as their own, the Catami weren't phased, and survived long enough into the 21st century. Most of the Catami moved on, and adapted to the modern times, but the heart of the tribe remained in the rain forest, with a young cat woman looking like Kitty Katswell named Toronami being the new chieftan of the tribe.
Toronami was the daughter of the previous chieftan who had passed away not to long ago, so she was next in line to inherit the role. However, there was a moment where she cemented her role as chieftan when on a hunt with her fellow tribesmen, when for some reason she predicted that a pack of cougars was going to maul her hunting party. When she told them what she saw, they thought she was crazy until the cougars attacked. Thankfully, Toronami was able to fight off the cougars, causing them to run off. It was then that her hunting party thanked her, and forgave her for doubting her predictions. When they returned to the village, the village mystic was told about Toronami's predictions, and he began training with her to become the tribe's new predictive shaman in hopes of warning them of any future disasters that might befall their village.
During one time, Toronami predicted something that would forever change the course of the Catami tribe's existence. During one of her sessions with the mystic, she predicted that a monstrous-looking dog dressed in black with rings of lightning would come to the Amazon, and destroy everything that her people hold dear to their hearts. After warning the village of the impending doom, an American gangster named Al T. Bonne and his Goon Squad arrived in South America to destroy the rain forest, and build a hotel resort and spa for villains in its place. Toronami and the warriors of her tribe tried their very best to drive away the invaders, but Al's shock collars, his Tommy gun "Bonebreaker," and his brutish assistant Chink Bryuser, proved too much for them to handle. As a result, Al had most of her village kidnapped, and put to work in leveling their own home. Not even her friends at the Brazilian Undercover Fighting Force could stop him.
Toronami believed that all hope was lost until she predicted the arrival of a group of guardians with bright colors that could set her people free. It came in the form of Kitty Katswell and the rest of Team Katswell, who were called in by BRUFF to help them deal with Al. As they ventured into the jungle to find Al's camp, Toronami and her hunting party tracked them down to see if they were what she predicted they would be. During their fight with Al, her assumption was right, but even HE was too much for them. So, as they fled, Toronami caught up with Kitty, and told her that she predicted that she and her Team would help her people drive Al away. Kitty didn't believe her, but after going back to her village with her, the whole thing started to make some sort of sense to her. But, Kitty also said that even SHE needs help with dealing with Al, and since Elvis lost to Chink, he'll need some strength training. After Elvis' training, Toronami took him, Stan, and Niles all across the rain forest to rally the other Amazonian tribes in hopes of over-powering him while Kitty and the others returned to BRUFF HQ. Then, as Kitty and Elvis were dealing with Al and Chink, Toronami led the rest of Team Katswell and the united tribes against Al's Goon Squad, and were able to rescue her enslaved people. After Al was removed from South America, Kitty and the Team became official members of the tribe, and Toronami became Brazil's ambassador for the Catami tribe, and the united tribes of the Amazon rain forest.
Personality & Traits:
Toronami is very wise and brave, which are needed traits to become leader of the Catami tribe. However, she's also very curious about the modern world, and wants to venture from her jungle home just to check it out. She did so when she was only fourteen when she wandered off to a small Brazilian beach town, and when she returned to the village that night, she learned how to speak Portugese, and tried to teach their customs to her people. But, she still stays true to her family's traditions of the wild, and sees that too much modernization could destroy them completely.
While Toronami doesn't tolerate intruders on her village (especially Al), there was a time where future BRUFF agent Patricia Vulpe accidentally stumbled across her and her people when she was a child. At first, she was confused by her clothes and gizmos, but once she learned that she wanted to keep the nature of the Amazon conserved for future generations, the two of them became very close friends. Toronami also believed that Kitty was a goddess because the two of them looked so similar to each other, but she quickly learned that Kitty was no more human than she was.
As curious as she is why the wonders of the modern world, there are a few customs that Toronami has trouble understanding, like Internet and TV. She thinks that the images on the screen were really trying to grab at her, and would even destroy the screen with her spear to "destroy the beast" as she put it. She also has a tendency to take things literally, and would often act without thinking clearly. But, Toronami is still a wise and brave leader for the Catami tribe, and does whatever it takes to make sure her people thrive in the future.
Well, that's Toronami's interpretation for "TUFF: Team Katswell."
