Bio:
Professor Douglas Katswell is the eccentric brother of renowned TUFF agent Sean Connery Katswell, and a brilliant, albeit outlandish, inventor of all sorts of wacky, kooky inventions. But, before he settled into his inventing phase, Doug actually helped out his brother by providing gadgets and strategies, and hacking into enemy computers for his team to help combat crime in Petropolis. After Sean's death, Doug resigned from TUFF to focus more on his inventions in Kitty's old hometown, Catsville, Colorado, while living with his wife and five mischievous kids.
During that time, he's made all sorts of wacky, kooky inventions, such as the Automatic Lazy Susan, the Instant Bed-Maker, and the Household Escalator, all with little to no success. However, his greatest achievement came in the form of his robotic assistant, GS-8699, a prototype robot soldier that would be used by the military and, of course, TUFF, to combat enemy attacks. But, Doug had put a default programming into GS's mainframe that allowed him to think more freely while not turning against his creator at the same time. The government was distraught by this move seeing how their desired "perfect soldier" is reduced to a housekeeper, but for a while, this move worked, and the government's desire for a robotic soldier faded away. And, Doug was proud of GS, and continued making his crazy inventions with him by his side.
Doug was completely unaware that his oldest daughter, Kaitlynn, has adopted Kitty's Feline Phantasm persona, and was cleaning up crime in Catsville until one accidental night. When she came home late after a long patrol of the city, GS attacked her, thinking she was an intruder of their home. But, once Kaitlynn unmasked herself in front of GS, Doug began to get concerned about her. While GS was rebooting himself, Doug decided to lend her a hand by upgrading the gadgets that Kitty used when she was stranded in the 80s, and allowing GS to be her occasional partner at times. Kaitlynn agreed, but only if Doug would keep her duties a secret from the rest of the family. He did so, and became a helpful ally for the Feline Phantasm in her fight against crime.
His niece KItty Katswell and her team, Team Katswell, met up with Uncle Doug at the Katswell Family Reunion back in Catsville, where it was made clear to John and Dudley who she got those "Word of the Day" calendars from. While the team got well-acquainted with him, Donovan, Ice Claws, and the Chameleon crashed the party with a couple of Heckhounds, and Doug helped by throwing his potions at the Heckhounds, making them act really wacky. After Team Katswell and the Feline Phantasm foiled DOOM's plan to blow up Catsville Town Hall, Doug offered to assist them in their crusade against General Guar and DOOM by providing them with his potions, allowing them to gain the odd abilities they come with. Despite his weird scientific ways, Kitty still loves her Uncle Doug, and is happy to have him assist them in keeping the world safe.
Personality & Traits:
Uncle Doug is very eccentric and peculiar because he's always inventing a lot of kooky contraptions, but he's just like every other regular guy on the streets. He's nice, supportive, and is very approachable for a guy who invents such crazy gizmos. He's also very intelligent, which comes as no surprise, and he actually likes it when he shares his scientific knowledge with the world, especially kids. In fact, he also has plans to start his own kids' science TV show once he gets enough money from his inventions.
Doug's also a good father towards his five mischievous kids, including his adoptive daughter, Carmelita Fox. But, his oldest daughter, Kaitlynn, acts as a calm contrast to his eccentric nature, and often assists him in his crazy inventions. He also sees GS-8699 as his greatest achievement to date, but considers him to be a close friend to him as opposed to just a robotic assistant to help him around the house. But, Kitty still sees him as a very cool uncle, and he acts as another father to her.
Doug also has a very colorful vocabulary, which could make it difficult for his other family members to get what he's saying. That's the reason why he mails his relatives (including Kitty herself) "Word of the Day" calendars so they can understand what he's talking about. He also has a tendency to be fussy and uptight, and is known to be pretty absent-minded at times. But, Doug still strives to be a good man, and he'll hopefully get his science TV show off the ground one day.
Well, that's Uncle Doug for "TUFF: Team Katswell."
