Epilogue
SnivyIt's been three years since my incredible adventure with Jamie. My life has changed so much since I first left home. I've become a regular guest at Sceptile's cottage, to the point where I'm practically family. I've traveled so far, exploring new mystery dungeons and making new friends, but none as close to my heart as Jamie.
I hike up Prism Mountain, alone. It's tough exploring dungeons solo, but I've grown stronger, faster, better, and I've learned a powerful secret technique: The forbidden art of Running Away Because The Enemy Is Too Strong!
I've made my way up, all the way to the fake heart. I ignore the glowing vines and berries, instead walking over to a particular tree. It took me a while to figure out which tree it was, especially because you have to press it a certain way. But I've done it plenty of times by this point, so one touch of the tree later, and the forest parts to reveal a path upward.
I sprint up the path, racing to the peak as fast as I can! Dashing up the spiral path, I soon reach the familiar sight of the Guardians' Gate.
And now we wait. I set out a picnic blanket and some food before taking some time to admire the view from atop the mountain. No matter how many times I come up here, it never gets old. After a minute or so of that, I eat some food, do some doodling with my new art supplies, read a book, anything to pass the time as I wait.
And then, after hours of waiting, the Gate makes a sound that I remember all too well; the sound of someone traveling through. I drop my book and turn toward the Gate, watching intently as it wavers and glows. A shining mass of light approaches from within, shifting and solidifying into a familiar form.
Mudkip steps through the Gate.
They wobble a bit, unused to their four-legged body, but they find their balance. Then they look up, and immediately sprint toward me. "Snivy!"
"Mudkip!" I run to meet them, and we crash together into a tight hug. Holding them close, I smile and say... "You're late. You said you'd be back in three weeks. It's been a month."
"Yeah, sorry about that. Team Rocket attacked again, and the Guardians got involved, it was a whole thing. You know how it goes. Hey, did you finish that Gyarados picture you were drawing?"
"Yup!" I run over to my bag and rummage through the papers until I find the Gyarados, and I run back to show it off.
"Wow... I still can't believe we convinced that Gyarados to model for you."
"Well, I think having a water-type definitely helped. Oh yeah, how's school going for you?"
"Great! I'm taking a class on grass-type pokemon, actually. Did you know that although grass-types can photosynthesize, the energy from photosynthesis is processed way differently in pokemon than in plants?"
"Wow! I don't care!"
Jamie giggles. "Then don't ask about it, silly."
"Oh yeah, Sceptile baked you a pie!"
"Oh really? Nice!"
"And then we all ate it because you were late!"
"Oh really? Darn!"
Jamie laughs, and I laugh with them. We keep chatting, and I offer Jamie some food. They're always hungry after dimensional travel.
"So," Jamie says. "Got our next adventure lined up?"
"Oh, I almost forgot!" I grab my map, filled with pretty drawings marking mystery dungeons, drawn by yours truly. "I've read about a whole valley filled with dungeons over here in the east."
"Beyond the Twisting Tunnels dungeon? That's quite a journey."
"Well, you did say you had a whole month off this time."
"More like three weeks now, thanks to Team Rocket."
"Alright, speedrun adventure then! We should have enough time. Wanna say hi to Sceptile and Treecko, then get going?"
"Yup, sounds good."
"Alright then, Team Playmates, forward march! Onward to adventure!"
Thank you for reading my story. This is the end of Jamie and Snivy's journey. I might make some shorts or spin-offs, but no guarantees. I'm satisfied with this story, and I hope you've enjoyed it as much as I have.
