I was digging around one of my boxes containing a lot of my old art shtuffs and I came upon this. When I was younger I had a love for old sailing shps and early steam ships.
I have mentioned, in one of my previous journals, that I am workig on a Steampunk Pirate story. In all honesty I've had that idea since the first "Pirates Of The Carribean" came out.
This was/is the design of the main character's Pirate vessle, the "Reverence"! She's based on a typical Civil War era Union war ship, but with a few changes. Also I drew insparation from the famous CSS "Alabama". (With the retractable scew and funnel)
The hull of the ship is iron clad (though does that make her an "Ironclad"? ) and below the water line. *pesky divers and their hand drills... XD*
The main artilery are 9" and 12" "Brook Rifles" modified to be breach loaders. (when ships have cannons on board they are reffered to as "rifles" or guns) This allows much faster reload times, and with the well timed training of the crew, wich results in nearly a continuous assult of cannon fire upon the enemy.
I may make a few changes to this design seeing as the time period is more like the 1790s in terms of tech. The Reverence is meant to be a "Beyond State Of The Art" vessel.
Yes I know, A.J. actually drew something other than a train. Hard to believe isn't it? Anyway, I hope you all like!
