Assuming that "Only male hedgehogs" rule is still in place, I doubt we'll be seeing an official Super Surge, so I made one up!

And Amy. But that's only in Origins and Superstars. So in other words, "Super" non-hedgehog/female characters seem to be a thing in the Classic series only.
What are the odds of having a purple Super colour for Surge, another character inspired by Ashura who is essentially the canon spiritual successor to Scourge, who had the same inspiration and was also purple in their Super form?

I don't really consider the S3&K glowing/Heroes yellow shields as real "Super" forms. They're functionally the same in gameplay but visually they're kinda lame.
I'd guess they probably used the same color inverting logic for Scourge and that's where it came from. More parallel thinking than coincidence.

Yeah, that's just lazy. And to lay salt down on the thick, gashing wound, SEGA didn't necessarily call Tails, Knuckles and Amy's "Super" forms actually Super in Superstars. They called "Super Powers" instead. I hate these lazy "Super" forms and irritating anti-consumer(?) mandates so much. Well, not really the "Super" forms, but mainly just the mandates.
I suppose.
