I met this cat in the "cage-free" room at a shelter, and the bond was immediate.
She is a 5 year old tortoiseshell calico with GREEN eyes (the lighting in my room is awful so they look teal here), and is incredibly overweight -- but I'll fix that. x3
No I am not going to starve the cat.
Her name was Junebug -- but I don't like Junebugs. So for now her name is Princess Famicom (or Princess, for short). This is subject to change.
I have never really liked this color of cat...but you never can tell who you'll bond with. x3

Smokey has a stub of a tail (5-6 inches), but has the coloring of a blue Maltese.
He's obviously never met a Bobcat. A natural wild cat with little to no tail.
... I just gagged on my tea. At least Dachshunds are more useful than a Chihuahua. I'll take a Husky or a German Shepherd any day.

D'you know a thing? Little Angel was also a tortoiseshell though so young I couldn't determine sex. Ooooh, I have prayed so much for this moment!!!!
When the vet will determine what to do to trim her to shape? And. to reduce her appetite - if she's as intelligent as she appears to be -, I have an infallible formula: make her waych the TV news...
If THAT doesn't sends her appetite to zero, nothing will!
Two quotes about that: Husband to wife: "What news do you want to see? 7PM so we cannot eat, or 11:00 pm so we can't sleep?"
Second: Husband and wife are in bed, watching tv, both hugging one another, utterly terrotrized. The Tv blares: ... and these have been today's news..."

Most probably, yes, so I guess She´ll be Little Angel, after all. I feel a lot better having give her a name.

She's a pretty girl :> I'm glad you found her! As for weight loss, shouldn't be anything some diet and excersize can't help out. My boy got pretty chunky after kittenhood, he was starving when I adopted him so we let him eat all he wanted to put get up his weight (he was half the size he should have been), he wound up never losing his intense hunger so we have to monitor him still! lol, If we don't feed him his meals on time, he goes and tries to get into dog food and human food and garbage and everything D: Weight management catfood and excersize, and making sure he doesn't eat too much got him back to a decent size :>
Thank you for the tips, I have never had an overweight pet before, and I was going to call the vet for some help. Right now, I think she is used to having food out 24/7 in a big bowl (that's how they had it at the shelter), and I usually feed my cats twice a day with about a handful of food -- she's a bit bigger than Duchess was (okay that's an understatement, Duchess was 5lbs, "The Bug" is 17.5lbs) though, so I have been giving her a few crunchies as snacks, because I don't want her to starve after having food out all day. xD
I was about to email the shelter and ask how much she has been eating per day and how they feed her, so I can start from there and lower it, I don't want to put her into a hungry shock! xD
But I am also playing with her with a mouse on a string. x3 She doesn't move much, but it's better than nothing. xD

kissyfur has one of those kinda cats and she is so skiddish!
My cats name was Nepo, I didn't like that name and changed it to Kuma, lol my previous pet was a dog and her name was monster *lol* which got changed to Colleen. Ah the names our pets get before getting a good ole fashion rename. Thankfully my cat got a rename when he was only a few weeks old ^^
