Interesting! You can see what's going on with the edges of the mask though... hence the smudge brush fix. That blending edge is really difficult to draw. ALTHOUGH, The veins actually kind of help! I wasn't thinking they would, but they work pretty well!
It looks like the jawline is an important place for selling the illusion of merging and you've kind of nailed it in that department.

thanks! i've been doing some more sketches and trying to figure out a better way of drawing the edges.
i'm just not good with traditional media and it's my only option right now.
i figured out a very cool way of giving a humanoid face cartoon features, such as the mouth or eyes, and it flows really awesomely. i'll upload a few of those soon.
