Cain set down heavily at one of the many mountain peaks with a grunt, claws digging into the stone for leverage as he folded his wings in again. The trip had taken weeks, but his sense of direction had led him back to the misty mountains and forests of the deep southern highlands of his old, home continent.
The bulky brown sneered as he surveyed the land as best as he could through the cloud cover beneath him, peering with scrutinizing crimson eyes. His nostrils flared as he drew great breaths to gather the scents that wafted up high on currents of wind, and his digits flexed, the brown subconsciously reaching out into the stone itself as he got a feel for his surroundings.
The highlands were home to a contemptuous breed, the scrawny blue-scaled Highland dragons. Clan based beasts, much like the green whelps from his new home, though their numbers were much greater, as were the number of individual, feuding sects. Annoying, vicious little things, blighted from birth with seemingly random casting abilities, the highland dragons were hardly a threat to an earth dragon on their own, but in large numbers...
Cain gave a snort, lifting his head a bit as he gathered the faintest scent of his quarry, turning his head in the direction of the wind. The behemoth had a task to do in these lands, and he wouldn't be gone until he'd seen it through. No doubt, his very presence would send the land's inhabitants into a frenzy, but it concerned him little. Any land he set foot on was his territory, and he'd allow none to impede him.
An absolutely stunningly gorgeous piece I managed to grab from the incredible
mofutom I just stumbled across them and HAD to get a piece from them. Please check out their page!
This is the first big comm I've gotten where I was able to make use of Cain's new refsheet, and I couldn't be more happy with how this piece came out. An absolute brick-house of a dragon here, and that background and lighting just look so damn cool. I absolutely ADORE this piece.

Monumentally majestic indeed. Those Highland dragons will never know what hit em.
Speaking of mountain peaks, Mt. Currie, which overlooks my hometown would be a perfect spot for Cain to dig his massive handclaws into as he overlooks a breathtaking 360 degree view of lush valleys and lakes surrounded by other neighboring mountain ranges to call his new home>)
