Standing anywhere between six to seven and a half feet in height, the Talfug are an intimidating sight to be seen anywhere in the galaxy. Their tough hides make them naturally resistant to light firearms and stun guns, and their eyes allow them to see in dark places thanks to their subterranean nature. An outer fringe member of the Teknol Empire, the Talfug are responsible for a considerable margin of fuel production in the galaxy, earning them a nickname of "Fuelmongers". Everything from their ships to their vehicles to even their armor and weapons runs on this fuel. As a result, they are always seeking more resources to utilize in their fuel production, picking on systems not in the empire to get it. While the Empire would be more than swift in punishing the Talfug for such actions, a corrupt group within the current administration is very interested in seeing fuel production continue to improve, and is willing to help sweep things under the rug so long as it means fuel prices stay low and the fuel itself plentiful.
Despite their gruff appearance, most Talfug are peaceful and unaware of their military's actions in resource acquisition. Their vision and hardiness for underground work makes them invaluable in working in mining facilities and in other low light and hazardous conditions. Still, every creature has their weakness, and the eyes are the weakness of the Talfug. Bright flashes of light severely disorient them, and with enough power and frequency, can lead to blindness or worse. Most Talfug outside their homeworld will be seen wearing goggles that help to reduce brightness for them.
Extremely carnivorous, the Talfug prefer meat above anything else. Reports on Talfug military engagements have reported them devouring opponents, both alive and dead, in very high stress operations, but no concrete evidence of this claim has ever been brought to light.
