My first rendered image ever!
It's a wallpaper project for my own little linux distribution, K-9.
Modeled with Cinema 4D CE6 and rendered in Kerkythea.

Heh, that actually might happen soon. :3
I want to use a rendered image of my K-9 logo as a wallpaper for my distribution, but I'm not satisfied with the lighting of this one. Could you probably give me a hand with how to add some proper lighting so the image doesn't get too dark?

well 1 thing you need to use for additional effect is to use a HDRI background for simulated lighting and plus adding reflective eye candy you normally don't see with just plain black background. the ones i use most are located here. http://www.kerkythea.net/phpBB2/vie.....pic.php?t=7501 you will need to register with the forum to download their content. the studios i tend to use most are 7-8 and 10 7 is good for display lighting. 8 is good for scene lighting like for cars and such. 10 is dark but has good undertones and shading so i use it a lot when doing glass work.
orrr you can just email me the kzx file and i'll build a light setup for you so you can visually learn what i did. oh and have you downloaded their collection of free materials? if not refer here and follow each link its a godsend! http://www.kerkythea.net/joomla/ind.....&Itemid=76
First you will need to instal lthe package by going to File then locating
Install Library then when selecting your library file select the studios file you downloaded it should be automatically instaleld if not reboot the program and open your kzx scene file. next look for the word in the menu Insert then look for the word Globals. Then it will drop menu to the library you have installed. select whatever global you want and it will be automatically placed and your 3D world will now have a realistic background with semi-realistic lighting. also for glass rendering i would highly recommend if youy have the tiem and patience to use Millennium Light transfer or the more accurate Millennium Light trans Bi-Directional Path Tracing aka MLT or MLT-BiPT in the render settings.

well you can actually control the exposure of an image. on the menu bad look for the icon that has a little scenery and a tree thats the render display window button that also has image control sliders for like exposure. normally i keep my exposures to .70-.80 sometimes .60 you can also control how bright the global is by going to menu then look at settings then click sun and sky this will bring up a window look for the button skip sun and you'll see two sliders you will want to set intensity to .5 maybe .1 sometimes most globals are purposely bright because they are simulating real light.
What I want my image to look like: :3

It almost perfectly matches my panel, my icons, my window decoration and my gtk theme
