I really like drawing dog paws and one day while life-drawing my sleeping mutts' feet I noticed an easy method to block out the shape of a paw pad, so I thought I'd share! :D

I'm always baffled by this observation, as I've never thought that Mischa's paws smell much like food. Mind you, he's a malamute and they don't smell much like other dogs anyway.
But then, corn chips aren't so common in central Europe, so maybe one day I'll get fed something when I'm in the US, and say, "Hey! This tastes like my dog's feet!"

For hind-paws I don't see why you couldn't, I use it for anthros myself but some people like to draw more humanish feet on them. Also, I should have specified that this is for hind-paws mainly, front-paws on dogs are a little different with the additional dew-claws and carpal pads. The general paw shape is relatively the same tho. :]
Would you ever consider a tutorial for anthro front-paw-hands? Many artists draw anthros with human-like hands. I prefer them to be a good mixture of both front-paws and human hands, buuuut I just don't get it, and references are not that easy to find - especially nature has a certain lack of them... ;)
I thought you might've, I'm often trying to figure out the difference between your two sketching styles (i'm not sure who i'm typing to right now X3), sometimes your foot-paws are rather wide around the larger pad, rather than being thin like in this tutorial. For example in... *searches for a good example* Midnight Sun http://www.furaffinity.net/view/933844/ I guess it's just about widening the initial pentagon (not that i use construction lines like this, it's just good to have a mental image).
Surely that only works if paws are only flat, for folded ones some would need to understand using planes ;)
Thusly the understanding of the paw bone structure should be studied(for those that dont know paws that well) before attempting to simplifying something to a blocked in shape ;)
