And another storyboard sketch from the best Popeye short „Popalong Popeye“ released in 1952.
Remember ? Bully Boy, Bluto’s well built coffeebrown show and breeding bull generously offered the runty spinach abuser the first punch 🥊 in a set up boxing match by his human foreman and…
SOCK !!!
I guess even stronger humans couldn’t harm Bully in a such an attempt; his beefy balcony pecs seemed to appear like a wall of stone and judging Bully’s excited face he‘s happy how the hard training with Bluto paid out.
Such an amazing sight !
His beefcake pecs serve as his natural protective vest and fighting with Popeye looks more like light sparring for him.
What I particularly like is his playful smile, less arrogant and stern plus the adding of a tail in this early drawing stage (he wears attractive cherryred boxer shorts in the original short)
I don’t wanna bore you again with Bully’s demise but his death was caused by stupidity and a high level of unfairness
