It’s a small gift for my senior. Because of an unresolved plan and my regrettable work efficiency, this project has been delayed for a long time. Besides, I would be extremely busy in the foreseeable future and have no time for art. So, I castrated some contents and only painted some parts of the equipment, an optimized move, but it works well for portraits. I spent much time on the head, and I basically figured out the configuration of the “vector field” of hair. I also applied some blur and aerial perspective techniques to enhance the solid and volume feeling, which might be better than my previous flat-feeling works.

The theme is the game Outer Wilds, recommended by my senior. Perhaps it’s hard to find out because of the excessive castration. [spoiler ahead] I wished to paint the character taking off his helmet (I thought this action is kind of sexy) and watching the supernova peacefully, waiting for the swelling blue light consuming all and the memory transferring back to 22 minutes ago. If you zoom in on this picture and you could see the reflection of the supernova in his eyes. In the original plan of a waist-up picture, the reflection would be much clear to see on the helmet. It’s a very unique and romantic game, like a sandbox-puzzle game, in which the only gatherable item is information, fragmentary information to piece together the remote story of several generations from a clan of an advanced species named Nomai. I thought a very delicate idea of this game is to present the magnificent theme of the universe and the researching chronicles of Nomai with tranquil camping (the campfire and spacesuit carrying sleep bag) and peaceful country music, which is so romantic. There’s a quote by Solanum, the last one from this Nomai clan, I’d like to share. “As a child, I considered such unknowns sinister. Now, though, I understand they bear no ill will. The universe is, and we are.”

送给学长的一个小礼物。因为之前有一个不确定的计划和我令人遗憾的工作效率拖了很久，之后也会非常非常忙也没什么时间继续画了，所以最后阉割了一些内容然后取巧地头胸像只画了一部分的装备出来。头花了比较大的功夫，算是在边学边画，基本把毛该怎么长弄清楚了，这次学着用模糊来创造立体感，可能比之前要好些没那么平。

主题是学长推荐的游戏outer wilds，可能因为阉割过度不怎么能看出来。[前有剧透]大概想画的是在22分钟的时间循环要结束前，面对超新星爆发的平静地摘下头盔（我觉得摘头盔这个动作很性感x）注视着膨胀的蓝白色星体等待着自己的死亡和意识被传输到22分钟前。如果放大看的话可以看到眼睛里倒映出的超新星，原计划是腰以上都有的，从头盔映出来的应该更清楚些。这是一个很特别但非常浪漫的游戏，类似沙盒解密，需要收集的东西只有信息，碎片化的信息拼凑出很久之前一个先进种族挪麦的一个家族几代人的探索故事，并利用他们留下的遗产完成他们未竟的事业。这个游戏我觉得很巧妙的一点是把宇宙和挪麦一个家族几代人的探索与牺牲史这样宏大的背景和露营（营火和带有补丁携带睡袋的宇航服）乡村音乐这样平和恬淡的形式相结合。这个挪麦家族最后的幸存者所莱内姆有一句话我很喜欢“我还小的时候，觉得这种让人无法理解的事情都很可疑。可现在，我明白了，其实谁也没有恶意。宇宙如此，我们也一样。“
