In tandem with getting my Van Saar gang ready for the tabletop, there have been a few things I had to prepare for. This was especially apparent when it came to weapons, especially weapons I couldn't straight-up build out of the Van Saar kits or upgrade packs.
Each weapon arm depicted here is magnetized.
My first conversion was for a lascannon (5) I purchased in my first Necromunda campaign. Suffice to say that the rad cannon (4) was an ideal base assembly to build it from, with the lascannon muzzle itself taken from leftover parts of a heavy weapons team I built a long time ago.
My second was the makeshift sub las-carbine (3) I made at a time when I forgot that the upgrade packs had proper model representation for them. A pistol hand and cut-back las-carbine receiver made up that conversion.
My latest weapon conversion so far has been the long las/long rifle (1). I say both weapons since any Van Saar player will likely prefer the latter for longer range and otherwise more comparable weapon profile to a lasgun with hotshot power packs - an upgrade that a former cannot take for reasons only GW knows why.
The base assembly of this weapon is a Van Saar lasgun (2), while the extended barrel and scope were carefully cut from a spare tempestus scion hotshot lasgun. I pinned the barrel and receiver to reinforce the joining surfaces between them. I figured that the scope was mounted on the picatinny rail and so carefully cut notches to slot it in without incident.
I'm bound to produce more as time goes on.
