Despite many, many setbacks we made it to Morphicon. My costume was surprisingly well-received (even if Finster's face isn't too flattering head-on) and I ended up following the Rita cosplayer around like a good little minion. Much to my surprise, we were sought out by Barbara Goodson and Robert Axelrod (the voice talent behind Rita and Finster) for some pictures!!

Power Morphicon in Pasadena CA :3 Its a convention devoted solely to the Power Rangers series and the second one they've ever held...the last was a few years ago and only had a handful of attendees. This one actually had a big turnout and its so surreal seeing all the folks in person that I watched on TV every day as a kid
Oooooooooooh, I see. XD Figures there'd be more then 1 con named Morphicon.
That's kind of cool. For a show that was just a hacked up Japanese one, it sure had a cheesy fun charm to it that it retains today. (Unless you're watching the 'newly enhanced' version from Disney...damnit, Disney, leave it alone.)
I used to have all the original 6, Plus Megazord, plus the turtle, the 2nd Megazord, the white tiger, the brachiosaurus thing, and even Bones the monster....loved that character. XD

Finster always did seem smarter than the rest of the baddies, and his creations were great, but Rita and the rest were too demanding and using of him, though he was loyal. I gotta give him that. If the Power Rangers coulda recruited him, there's no telling the good he could have done. lol.
I do believe that's a big no. See, most of that footage that didn't involve the teen actors themselves was shot in Japan for a show they have over there. It was then brought over here, spliced with footage of the teens...you know, Jason, Billy, Zach, Tina, Kimberly, Tommy...and thus MMPR was born.
In fact, in Season 2, they had to start filming new footage with the original actors to continue the story over here.
So, he provided the voice, but was not in the costume. I may be very mistaken, but that should be correct.

I'm really not sure who was in the Finster costume. In Japan (the recycled footage) it was a guy....but I'm relatively sure in the US footage, its a girl. The body language, the bubble butt, and the narrow shoulders all scream "female" to me. I gotta say I prefer the japanese suit actor, though....he seemed to have the lumbering old man gait down pretty well (but being that Puripurikan is supposed to be kind of crabby, his body language in the recycled footage didn't really translate very well to the gentle and submissive character Finster was meant to be).
The American suit actor made him really bouncy, wriggly, and spastic...kind of like a secondary Alpha 5. Did not like it as much...
BUT ANYWAY... no, Rob didn't wear any of the costumes. Finster was unknown and Zedd's suit was worn by someone named Ed Neil (who was also at the con)

Oh, and I find this to be curious.
The Yellow and Pink rangers were both girls, right? Well, not so fast...if you notice on the actual Power Ranger suits, the only one with a skirt is the pink one, Kimberly. The yellow one is just the same regular suit as the boys.
This has lead me to believe that in Japan, the Yellow Ranger was also a male! But when they brought the show over here, they wanted to balance the cast a bit more between boys and girls, and made Yellow a girl.
