As I walked ahead, the ground slowly shifted from moist dirt to a pleasant and shallow stream. I arrived at the edge of a cliff only to be met with a seemingly bottomless abyss. The water from the edge was cascading down from a magical and endless source of water. I could see an intricate web of gently glowing streams below.
It seems the temple heard my pleas to explore more. The stone platform I was standing on slowly began to descend towards the streams. I was full of butterflies, and Willow was still nowhere to be seen.
When the platform had reached the bottom and my paws were finally in the water, I began to follow the streams. I could feel some familiar things, almost like deja-vu. It felt like I’d been here before, like I’d spent a lot of time here actually. As I moved forward the river grew deeper. Small fish that seemed to be made of the water began to jump out of the stream. I managed to paw one but it splashed away in a show of beautiful glowing water droplets. I chased more of them down stream until my paws couldn’t feel the bottom anymore and I was suddenly washed away.
Fear gripped me as the waves dragged me away. I fought the water as long as I could, but the temple seemed to want to comfort me. Beacons started appearing and lighting a path. I surrendered myself to the waves and let the river wash me downstream until the eerily quiet roar of the rapids was behind me and replaced by comforting silence once again…

For this prompt I really wanted Aspen to subconsciously revisit the moment when he was about to be transformed. As a human, he almost drowned while ice fishing and he was transformed at the last second. He blotted the memory out and as a result he has no idea how he actually became an Esk. This journey through the temple of Silence will serve as the first steps to showing him what happened, and helping him let go of it. The temple reminded him of the joy fishing once brought him, and also of the dangers that befell him. His familiar is not with him to symbolise how lonely he was at this point in his human life. There’s a bit more about how he was transformed written here when I did his Origin prompt for anyone interested, but I definitely need to go into more detail sometime: https://www.deviantart.com/timegear.....igin-845500788
