well you have to admit they have skinny arms, though if they're based on Japanese people that's probably why (though I think a katana would be a much better weapon than one of those giant things, since they're light weight and you could probably swing them a lot of times)

though to be fair that guy you showed me would probably look a bit wimpy compared to some actual teen warriors of the Celts, Spartans and Assyrians

Katanas should really be their thing, but they seem to really be fascinated with the west and so we get things like this.

Large and strong brutes... yeah those are strong, but typically the audience for these games would think that a strong buff giant like this would be just a stupid brute... they prefer the young warrior such as them who's deep and has his dark backstory..... I'm not saying it makes sense or anything....

Well I myself understand the inconsistencies entirely and so I don't fantasize of myself as some teen swinger of oversized swords. I prefer lances:

These kinds of warriors aren't known for being bulging musclemen. Mostly the requirement is just to be tall, and that fits me, but naturally that's the weapon that's less often seen in games.

I see....even though there's nothing really like those swords in the West, the closest being falchion which is a wide edged sword but not as heavy looking as that sword.

honestly when I saw FF for the first time....I thought it looked silly. The humans were too perfect and flawless looking and it didn't look as structured as say the likes of Elder Scrolls.....that and there are TOO MANY OF THEM O_O...and its a bit overwhelming.

Well I think the east sees fantasy differently than the west. The seemingly perfect looks of the characters are a stylistic choice I guess, but some look more believable and sometimes it's not about flawless perfect characters... however Final Fantasy itself is nowadays mostly made for teenagers in their puberty, so I guess that's why overly perfect/flawless characters might be their thing. I've been stepping away from that for a long time!

I see...maybe I'm just different x_X, as a teen I preferred the flawed and unusual, after all its whats on the inside that matters? Plus I always found the perfect characters of FF to be...well, not very human.

I somehow always stuck with the anthromorphs there, they seemed to have a bit more going for them, but don't know, could have just been my imagination. It tends to be harder to find completely realistic characters in fiction.
