These are the house gods. They've protected over mine own for many many years. I honor them both. The stories of their defenses are legendary, in fact.
Only problem... I've got two of them. Used to be, one watched over home, one watched over work. Now home and work are the same. I fear what happens if I call on one more than the other.
*smiles* See, the whole idea behind this all, the whole idea of every thing, no, every Thing I photograph is: the spirits are real. My goal, somehow, is to show people a way to see life in the lifeless.
I get a lot of confusion from my thesis work. My hubby describes it thus: "I see lots of things, but nothing grabs my attention." (Close as I can remember to what he said.) That's kind of the point. Life is in everything. Influence is in everything. If we look at it right, we get to pick and choose of what to pay attention to. My goal in a photograph is to kind of show, in the smorgasbord of life, what I thought was an aesthetic arrangement of the things to consider. I spend a lot of time arranging things aesthetically. That's supposed to be one of the key symptoms of O.C.D., you know.
House God on the Left (a.k.a., Rexfelis) strikes me as a little more obstinate than House God on the Right (a.k.a., Rexfelis). The one on the left is the one who argued with me once. Hmm... I wonder if I could find that story? I actually wrote it up once, as if it were fiction. I don't see it in my "Documents" folder right now, but I think I'll look for it.
