Right, so this drawing was not technically intended to be a political statement. Originally it was just me wanting to do a bit of vent art. I wanted to draw an image of someone being punched in the face with full force for... reasons. And when I was getting around to drawing the other individual I had to pause for a moment and consider what species to use. Didn't want to just use generic human again like in my Ukeiuwa drawing a few months ago. So I paused my timer and spent like ten minutes trying to figure out what species would be very punch-able. Which turned into what kind of person do you always just want to punch and my answer to that was stuck-up, pretentious assholes. And since another name for a donkey is an ass, that's why I went with that species. And when looking up business suits the main ones were blue. So yeah, I have a drawing of something red beating up a rich, blue donkey. Totally not something that people could make a political statement about, no.
For the drawing itself, I actually ended up spending about 45 minutes on just the sketch to one small part of the drawing. And it probably won't take any time to figure out where. I really wanted the expression to be correct and sort of iffy about how well I pulled it off. Especially when considering the normal sized eyes on the donkey, the almost comically large eyes on the fox kind of seem odd in my style. But I wasn't trying to do comically large, I was just drawing what looked best, and that's the result. I actually used Legoshi punching Louis as inspiration for the fox's pose and the donkey was just standing up as if laughing at some joke or something, probably what ended up setting the fox off. Really hate how the donkey's fingers are so comically tiny and also don't like how thick the fox's back legs are. But those are the only two real complaints I have with my drawing. But the odd thing is drawing an emotional drawing is a lot more draining for me so I didn't really feel like fixing them as I went along. Entire sketch was about 3 hours and then 3 hours for color.
Actually "tried" a simpler shading method. I see a lot of people use a shading style where they just remove all color and then just put in the shading as one color all at once, effectively recolor it as grayscale almost. But I was starting to get really tired and starting to rush and kept only half committing to it. So I don't really like how the shading worked out. Will have to try that method of coloring again another day, preferably on a drawing less emotionally taxing. Though I have to wonder as an aside, the donkey's pants look strange, but it is to the ankle. For a business suit for a digitigrade race, do you think the suit should extend all the way to the paw/hoof or only to the ankle?
