And yes they both have passive pickups as I don't like active pickups because to me they sound too modern also I dont like relying on a 9v battery.
My Dean's been upgraded to the Seymour Duncan pickups, and my black ESP Ltd are the same essentially, just the Seymour Duncan knockoffs Duncan Design.
My dean definitely feels like it has a faster neck which is good for lead
