Real gamers play Dodonpachi with the TV on the side*.
For those not familiar with the term, tate mode (pronounced tah-teh) is a feature in most vertically-scrolling shooters that lets you play in the game's original aspect ratio by turning the TV on its side.
*I don't have a TV to turn on the side. :/

Heh, Tate mode is pretty interesting. Of course, I only have one TV that could handle it, the old 19" Hitachi (made in June 1982, belonged to my grandparents once) in the spare bedroom, as the 30" widescreen CRT HDTV set weighs more than I do and the 26" widescreen LCD doesn't quite rest stably on one side.
Why not a classic like, say, Galaga? It's still a wonderful drawing, though.
