Well here she is, the one and only Gigavolt. Quite possibly one of the most unusual speedsters in all of Silicon City if not the entire world. XP Hope you enjoy.

Name: Bethany Watson
Alias: Gigavolt
Species: Black Fox
Age: 24
Height: 5’6”
Weight: 279 lbs
Quote: “So what if I’m as fit as a cello, that should just make the idea of me outrunning YOUR ass that much more humiliating!”
Occupation: Administrative assistant formerly in the Silicon City Police Department SVU division; recently transferred to the SCPD super-crimes department.
Skills: An extremely talented desk clerk, Bethany is an incredibly organized individual well versed in the bureaucratic red tape holding the SCPD together. Such is her skill that her transfer was requested by Detective Warden, general head of the super-crime department, to help restructure his division.
Graduating from college with a liberal arts degree, Watson has a strong background in British and American classics as well as a familiarity with editorial writing. In her spare time (what little she has as a heroine that is,) the vixen has a restaurant column under the penname “Lady Gourmet.”
As required by all officers and SCPD support staff, Beth demonstrates reasonable competency in basic self-defense techniques. In addition to her basic self-defense, Beth still practices “folk-style” wrestling, an old hobby that once took her and the vixen’s high school to the regional tournaments…
Powers: Bethany is a mutant born with the ability to channel and direct electrical energy into her body, turbocharging her to the point where she can run at super-sonic speeds. In addition, she is capable of generating an electrical charge around her hands and feet for a punishing melee attack. Finally, she can generate a short-term “counter-magnetic” field allowing her to propel herself along metallic railings and cables.
History: Born to a family of police officers, Bethany grew up wanting to be like her parents… despite inheriting her aunt’s predisposition for a heavy-set figure. While failing the physical requirement for enrolling in police academy was discouraging, Beth did not give up. Instead she focused on going to college with the intent on becoming a forensic scientist. While the stress of forensics eventually forced her to transfer to the school’s liberal arts program, it also produced a more beneficial change in her body chemistry…
Flustered with studying for another impending forensics exam, the vixen laid down to rest… and woke up later to find every appliance in her dorm room completely dead. Shrugging, she grabbed her coat and got ready to jog down the stairs… only to find that she moved so fast that she narrowly avoided careering into the cinderblock wall down the hall. Watson took this as a sign that she needed to reconsider her academic goals.
Transferring out into a less stressful major and taking the time to experiment with the strange phenomena that was happening to her body, she gradually learned to control her new found powers to the point she was at now. Extremely grateful she discovered these powers when no one was watching, the supervixen decided to keep her powers to herself for the time being…
Graduating from college, Beth finally achieved her dream of being involved in police work, after a fashion. Becoming a desk jockey with the SCPD initially wasn’t she had in mind but it gradually grew on her… until she noticed things wrong with the system. Cases were getting hamstrung due to lack of manpower within the department, some files were even managing to disappear entirely in the shuffle of paperwork. At first she assumed the problem was due to sloppy filing and took it upon herself to straighten things out… until Commissioner Stone himself came down and insisted that her search for the files concerning an assortment of mobsters and racketeers was not necessary, his tone carrying the subtle threat of violence.
Beth ultimately relented but was faced with a conundrum. It was becoming clear that the commissioner had his paws in something illegal and her conscious required her to act, but with the very real danger that she could be fired on false charges and the general lack of employment opportunities meant that she couldn’t do anything… as herself as she came to realize.
Digging out a mask she wore to protect her identity when she used her powers for personal amusement, the vixen searched a number of clothing realtors till she found something that would make an appropriate disguise. Assuming the name of “Gigavolt,” she used her double life and position in the SCPD to reopen cases that had been shut by corruption; ironically achieving her dream of being like her parents in the end…
Personality: Bethany is a paragon of dedication and a civic-oriented mindset. While not in the most glamorous of positions she loves her job and feels she is genuinely making a difference. Despite her optimism and sense of duty, Watson still maintains a heavy amount of common sense; her intelligence strengthening her ideals instead of being replaced by them.
While generally cheery and upbeat, Beth is somewhat shy about her body and feels “ugly” compared to the rest of her species. Ultimately because of this, she gets a swelling sense of pride seeing heroines like Lady Yokozuna and Gomita battling evil and “Adonice stereotypes” alike.
Appearance: Bethany is a midnight black fox with bright yellow eyes, curly snow-white headfur cut short, average bust, and a unmarked pelt as black as coal. Physique is a plump, “thunder-thighs” build, with most of her weight concentrated in the hips and rump. When running with her powers fully active, electrical energy washes over her, generating a blur effect that makes her appear like a vaguely vulpine-shaped bolt of electricity.
The Gigavolt costume is a combination of a black ski mask and a tight jet-black rubbery bodysuit that extends down to her ankles and wrists. Pure white lightening bolts run down along the side of her legs (down to the knees) and along her sleeves (down to the elbow.) Tight, form-fitting black boots and white gloves complete the outfit.
When not fighting evil, the vixen prefers to dress in baggy clothes that hide her build; favoring loose slacks, blouses, and anything else she can get in a size bigger then what she needs.
Enemies of Note:
Commissioner Stone (Pitbull, M)- Once, Commissioner Stone was an officer of the law that believed in justice and the good of his fellow. It isn’t known what got him to sell out his morals so completely but he has clearly become quite talented at it. At the behest of his “constituents,” case files get lost, evidence is “accidentally” destroyed, and officers are reassigned to other cases. Gigavolt’s uncanny ability to solve cases he closed has caused him to suspect someone in the department of having “side projects…”
District Attorney Jefferson (cougar, F)- DA Jefferson is a weathered middle-age feline who obtained her position with an impeccable legal career and a campaign focusing on the city’s conservative citizens. Unknown to them, Jefferson is also a closet homosexual with a secret younger lover. Unfortunately, Pirate Pete caught one of her covert romantic adventures on film. He now blackmails her into serving as his armor in legal matters. Charges against him get dropped or lost even though the DA wants nothing more then to see Pete drawn and quartered… with a rusty knife.
Dr. Evo (Salamander, M)- A rogue geneticist obsessed with mutating the “disgusting furries” into “purer” reptilian forms. Has clashed with Gigavolt on several occasions, the salamander has taken a personal interest in bringing the electric speedster low…
Hotstreak (Field Mouse, F)- A rival speedster interested in using her powers for personal gain, Hotstreak is a career petty thief and (currently) small-time smuggler; her illicit activities hidden behind a successful courier business. Unlike Gigavolt, Hotstreak’s super-speed comes from pyrokinetic plasma conversion, essentially allowing her to use fire the same way the vixen uses electricity. Possessing a few unusual physical characteristics (flaming reddish-orange hair, cherubic hourglass,) her greatest weakness is perhaps the difficulty in keeping her identity secret.
