"We are resolved into the supreme air,
We are made one with what we touch and see,
With our heart's blood each crimson sun is fair,
With our young lives each springimpassioned tree
Flames into green, the wildest beasts that range
The moor our kinsmen are, all life is one, and all is change."
- Oscar Wilde
What a delightful task to colour the lineart of the fantastic artist
Akeyla. This piece was hard to transfer on proper paper because of the detailed sketch but I enjoyed colouring a different angle of view.
I still have no clue how to paint water properly so I just did it with intuition and memory. My workspace was far from a PC and references, embedded with tubes of paint, coffee cups and brushes. I actually wanted to use the airbrush to bring out cetain effects but I found a technique which gives a similar yet more subtle effect.
I was too lazy setting the machine up and preparing it to spray and then afterwards clean it. >.<
This can be seen and even purchased at Eurofurence artshow.
Acrylics and colour pencils on watercolour paper.
Again, this is a collaborative work.
Akeyla did the lineart and I coloured it.
Thanks so much for looking. :D

Heh, this song played in my head as soon as I saw this picture and noticed the title: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=siTYbuequko
Love the colours in this, and the softness to the giant creature's vegetation. But are those baby trees or is it a huge unicorn?

It's beautiful. I love the concept; an ancient dragon-tree-being with aeons of tales to tell and endless wisdom to share. I love the way the waterfalls act as his mane and how his aboreal composition melds into the forested surroundings. Akeyla created such a wonderful image and your fantastic coloring did it justice. Awesome work-- both of you.
I feel like there's a lot more I could say about this image, but words fail me and I cannot convey my reaction in such a way the image calls for.

The concept behind this is so breathtaking and beautiful! The unicorn makes it a tadbit too kitchy in my eyes, but doesn't really lessen the impact this piece has on me.
It has a touch of all those big fantasy master pieces, by the "big names" of the fantasy genre.
The design of the dragon is truly maginificent and the colours create a special atmospehre, suitable to the "magic hour" of twilight, when the day is not really over yet and the night just hasn't yet begun.
