Terran Science Vessel Castello detected.
Stardate: 17/04/90421:4049. Location: System CTTF3
Designated Explorer- Alex REDACTED.
Current Augmentations: 2
Skeletal Augmentation successful. Marrow Electrolytic Alteration Successful. Body restructuring Successful.
Current Heart Rate: Calm, 72 bpm
HAZARD Identified- Gravity highly variable, ranging from 0.3 m/s^2 to 36.4m/s^2, bringing risk of bodily crushing, sudden impacts and impeded manoeuvrability.
Enter Input to select augmentations to face Gravitational Flux and difficult terrain.
>1. Minimize Mass- Shrink specimen to increase strength to mass ratio.
>2. Gelatinous Form- Increase flexibility of all body parts to resist impacts and pressure changes.
>3. Hyper Tensile Muscles- Enhance muscles and skeletal frame to withstand increased forces.
OBSTACLE Identified- Navigation of planet extremely difficult due to strong winds, gravitational flux, tectonic instability and volcanic activity.
Enter Input to select augmentation to navigate Moon effectively
>7.Additional Limbs- Double limb numbers to allow flexible mobility, climbing and leaping over terrain.
>8. Gravitational Capacitor- Use bio-chemical energy to fuel personal gravitational field for levitation.
>9.Gaseous Bladders- Sprout large balloon-like organs to sustain flight, adapting to the changing environment.
Scanning Target Moon- Searching for signs of life
> D. Dead World- No signs of life.
> F. Fungal Existence- Life appears largely immobile or minor, possibility of insects, plants and others.
> S. Substantial Life- Signs of tracks, implying vertebrates or larger fauna.
Awaiting commands from Exploratory Commission of Terra.

I agree, its a lot more interesting to see a planet full of life than the dead world option in my opinion.
Though I wonder, perhaps in a dead world scenario the explorer could become a life seeder / terraformer?
Perhaps it'd be worth looking into if the series continues to a third chapter. ^_^
