I've often had the same thing with nylon. But there are simple ways to sate one's desire to "touch the nice pretty thing" in an appropriate way. First and most obvious...if you go into a shop and they have balloons for sale, buy one. If you can't buy one for whatever reason, have an uninflated one in your pocket you can fidget with. And of course, have a few bags of balloons at home in a drawer for your "down time."
