So here it is. It's been several weeks in the making. The first sketch was made of fail. Then I sat on the burner for weeks. Then the tournament happened. And somewhere in there I asked :devcenturymon: for help on this thing since I was failing epically. I also got her to show me how she does her soft shading amongst other techniques in SAI.
After making the EXTREMELY PATIENT commissioner wait for weeks, I went above and beyond with this thing. Usually I get commissions done in 2 weeks. This one was 7 weeks-ish. heh.
I sent it to him last night, and here are his remarks:
"That is an impressive level of detail! The new shading technique worked very well! The vanilla flowers in the background are a nice touch! When I said I wouldn't ask for a vanilla plant in the background, it didn't occur to me that you might come up with something cool and clever like this. The flowers seem to say, "I am Vanilla. Take a look at the beautiful, fragrant flowers my loving mother named me after and that inspired in me a deep, lifelong enjoyment of beautiful fragrances." Complimenting this is the "sniffing in the wind" pose combined with the flowers she is collecting. You have my thanks for this impressive art and you have certainly earned your payment."
