A small sketch I did for
thepatchedhobo based on a recent character shown in there Long Hike comic. A fantastic and colourful series that uses elements of Reincarnation, Transformation, Post Apocolyptic setting and some truly cute/friendly character's you'll grow to love with a unique art style!
Please note this is just my summary of lore listed down below and my 'own' observations or analysis of the armour in the picture above...
Drekir or Drek are a rather dinosaur/theropod like creature that possess a mixture of traits that make them suited for particular climates/biospheres. The Dralkir (might be wrong name) are a breed of the Drekir that possess larger size and muscle mass to there cousins.
They are also more sophisticated in there technical and manufacturing skills to there cousins, as shown in the impressive almost war like garments and weaponry that is often seen in there possession.
From my own observation, the Dralkir appear to enhance there formidable size by the use of crested flags or ribbon attached to a horn like decoration of there helmet. Such a feature is similar to the red crest of spartan or roman warriors and was used to make the individual seem taller, more imposing and adds an element of deception in the individuals movement due to the bright fluttering ribbon/banner is rather hard to ignore once it's in motion.
The craftsman ship of large plates and scale mail highlights a powerful manufacturing ability. As both components are not something easy to produce and offer a superior edge in protection. The scale mail in particular grants the wearer fully enclosed protection and almost no reduction in neck/head movement, the only drawback would be the weight and bulk of the material.
The larger plates seem to be either partially attached or fully connected to a leather or thick fabric vest that holds the armour to the wearer, sporting an addition shoulder pauldrons. This trend carries over to the leg sleeve and lower back plates which tightly hug the user's body and keeping it securely in place. I can say from personal experience that loose armour plate that wobbles and jutter's about when you move is painful and annoying.
Last thing to note is the arm shields/daggers. These weapons double not only as an additional layer of armour, but as an effective blunt instrument and housing to contain a short blade. A weapon that can effectively be used in a series of slashes and jabs yo strike opponents.... Or to just slap them in the head with the edge of the heavy shield, both work pretty well in dealing with other Drekir or the hostile fauna of the region.
With that ramble out of the way, I do hope you all enjoy the picture and my own takedown of
thepatchedhobo fantastic outfit/armour design they have implemented in there comic series.

I think these are all good inferences!
Ãf Drãlkir sivilão the flag is less on intimidation and more about communication as to which den they belong to in addition to providing a useful eyecatcher.
Stal based armor like the Drãlk here is wearing is notoriously heavy though generally for drekir (who already function a lot like pack animals) tend to handle the weight ok, that combined with some notable training whilst within the safety of the Õfuth helps them stay (relatively) agile. though still less when compared to an unarmored opponent
Most of the Stal plates are secured through an Alchemically treated Scaleather known as "Jarilje" Through the alchemical treatment it often becomes very stretchy, allowing it to tightly fit around the Drãlk.
Overall good inferences in any case
