old stuff.
After an exchange of interesting ideas I came up with a new member for Fennrer Valkodlak´s Shistavanen crew. Ullfer S´helltane is something like the daydreamer of the crew, whose only love is it to go fishing on all and every planete with water on it.
Plus I tried to picture a Shistavanen with a long mane this time and not only the Lon Chaney Jr. memorial hairstyle Shistavanen usually feature, but rather something like a hippy^^

While he's daydreaming or spending long hours patiently fishing I imagine that Ullfer could have a lot of deep thoughts and explore rich vistas of the imagination, though also enjoying the quiet and his own company. With a hunter's instincts and keen senses he's likely far more aware of his surroundings and all going on than a human might begin to contemplate.
Perhaps sometimes he'll come up with a profound statement or insight to the surprise of the crew or be the one whom is the most patient and quietly observant if the situation calls for it.
As with the other members of Fennrer's crew, Ullfer's got a unique and interesting design and it does give him a rather gentle look with the longer mane and full beard equivalent. He'd be rather pleasant to enjoy some companionable silence with if he didn't mind someone quiet sitting near him as he fished.
I imagine that some of his crewmates might not see the appeal so much of fishing, though it's hunting that requires patience and subtlety. I wonder though if Peer being a little crazy and immature as well as being the most skilful hunter might sometimes find it fun to mess with him.
Perhaps Peer might make a game of sneaking up on Ullfer while he's fishing or if he's caught him day dreaming and doing something like using a leafy twig to tickle his ear or foot to try and startle him into dropping his rod or even trying to push him in the water. Though maybe Ullfer turning out to be more alert than he seemed and they end up both getting wet.

I shall look forward to seeing that story when you have the chance to tell it.
I imagine on the Howling Cerberus's travels across the galaxy that they would pick up the occasional passenger and there'd be many interesting characters whom might be a part of the crew for a time. Particularly a lone Shistavanen traveller might feel more comfortable travelling amongst their own rather than with aliens. There would be endless tales that might be told.

It was a misconception to think that it was merely an excuse to lay back and enjoy a snooze, or just endlessly whiling away the hours with daydreaming. Fishing was just like any other form of hunting, one of patience and perhaps prepared for that split second where keen reflexes would make all the difference between catching your quarry or a failed hunt. Every world was different, an endless variety of formidable prey and armed with rod and reel rather than your fangs and claws, it was a truer test of a hunter's prowess.
Of course, in those long periods of waiting you could contemplate the deep mysteries of the universe or explore a myriad of worlds in endless adventures as you let your thoughts drift. Just because it looked like you were asleep didn't mean you weren't fully alert, and you wouldn't pick up on the slightest sound even if someone thought they were downwind.
Likely Garwaff had come to say it was time to go but maybe found it amusing to see if he could catch you napping, clap a big meaty paw down on your shoulder and make you jump. The bank was a little slippery, even if your claws could dig in for purchase. Easy to slip, sadly before you had a chance to warn the clumsy behemoth, growling as he managed to trip on your line, faceplanting into the water with a considerable splash.
No further point in trying to fish now, given that any potential quarry would have been scared away. An annoyed grunt as you reach down and grab the spluttering wolfman by the collar, managing to drag him back onto solid ground, bedraggled and sodden of fur. Turn and silently begin making your way back to the Howling Cerberus, looking forward to the next planet and new waters to try your luck in.
