Mono No Aware is a japanese term referring to the impermanence of things and the gentle sadness that comes with their passing. Laska loves a man who is the mortal incarnation of Winter, and so must accept and embrace the cold and death that are an inevitable part of nature's cycle. Her expression is a bit sad and wistful, realizing that though the fallen flower is beautiful like all things that live, it must eventually die. We're starting to get into the cold months here in the Northern hemisphere and some of us may also be experiencing this feeling.
