Left to right are Hikaru (who ended up with Yellow Throated Marten coloring), Muon (currently in his 'winter ermine' pattern - which cycles through to brown stoat, then back to winter in about a 9 month cycle, regardless of planet or other influences) and the nose and scale corrected Napoleon.
Hikaru and Muon are analyzing a grape for its evil content. Back when they were lab experiments, birth control was secretly administered through medicated raisins that the Minsk would scarf up - no problem with baby Minsk.
Now on their own, they use similar raisins for their own birth control, but Hikaru in particular thinks that's just criminal. These three have so far sired collectively 19 kits on Neu Samara. The three females, not pictured here, Quantum, Tisky and Tag, decide when to have litters, and kits are raised communally as even the females will spend quite a bit of time away from home on starships, doing trade runs or exploratory missions for the government of Neu Samara.
Uncertain of their own natural lifespan, all are a bit anxious to increase their overall numbers, and Tag's the armchair geneticist, keeping track of lineage (easily done so far), and who needs to pair off with whom to get as much genetic variety in the second generation of Minsk.

Yep, this takes place in the late 2180's AD - between the beginning of the fifth Interstellar War and the Sixth (so far), but takes place in Hanstone sector, so far away from the Solomani Rim that most of the colonies are only being kept track of by local merchants and the Terran Navy. A relatively -tiny- part of the Terran Navy.
They're also so far out that none of the shake and bake worlds are even members of the Terran Confederation.
http://www.travellermap.com/ was used for the base system stats, but obviously because of the players and the setting for the campaign, Hanstone gets colonized/developed much sooner than what's on the map. Go two sectors rimward and one sector trailing to get Hanstone, right next to Malorn sector - no Aslan, no Vilani, its pretty much open for original GM content - though if I want to, I can toss in Droyne and Chirpers or undiscovered minor human races - though I have other things in mind. Chirpers have been spotted, but they're tangental to the storyline at most.

*heh* Its only because at this point in the timeline, there isn't an actual 'scout service' or general matchup to that profession/service yet. Navy handles its own scouting, government agencies employ agents for espionage or communication routes, and the merchanters rely on their own resources to collate knowledge beyond the normal trade routes - and keep it secret if they find anything particularly profitable.
By 2250, there'll arise several specialized services which equate to 'scout service' in the various Traveller character gen rules :>
