Syncing the characters to the beat of the song must be hard. Very few people actually do this successfully. Sometimes it's off by a few milliseconds. Sounds negligible until the hips are off by a full half beat part way through the song.
My best guess is to find a program like Ableton Live to sync the music (if the BPM doesn't change) and simply render out one full beat and use the time signature as a reference for the video loop.
...at least, that's how I envision accomplishing something like this.
